Just hanging around...

It's been a busy week!  I've been training new staff at work and preparing for my sister's bachelorette party tomorrow night.

I've also been enjoying finding fun places for all of our wonderful wedding gifts.  The wind chimes in the picture on the right was one of my favorite gifts!  They sound so pretty.  It's a very nice sound to hear early in the morning as I'm sipping some coffee and reading the newspaper.

The cat and dog have been spending a lot of time together lately- a lot of time alone too.  They've been funny to watch interact because Bella is totally the instigator.  She get's McClane all riled up and steals his spot!  She's also turning in to quite the climber.  Here's a few shots of her on the the book shelf.

Chris will be home soon and then it's off for our honeymoon!  Wahoo!

Another milestone

It passed without much fanfare, but Chris and I have been living together for over a year now!  I moved in last year over President's Day weekend.  Every day with Chris (and dog and cat…) continues to be an amazing and loving adventure!

I wish I could have captured the immediate effect! He was LOUD! Right now he's curled up at my feet, huffing and puffing and listening very intently for any sign of Chris's return.

Two wet runs

Yesterday was a cold and rainy Sunday. I was up by 7 am for a bit of yoga (this time the dog didn't try to lay on me during relaxation!) and out the door by 8 am to pick up Autumn. We drove down to River Bend Nature Center in Faribault, MN (FAIR-IH-BO) for a 9:30 am start time. The race started with an unorganized "BANG!" and a mass of chaos started moving down the trail. After the first 5 minutes or so everyone seemed to sort themselves out!

Post race we're all wearing our Simple Steps t-shirts (a walking program in Dakota County). Pictured left to right are Lynn, Angie, myself (no braces!) Autumn and Katie.

My second wet run of the day came after an afternoon of lounging around. Chris had just left for his afternoon run when McClain started complaining about not being invited along. The beagle in him was getting REALLY loud, so I went to let him in. He slipped from my grasp and took off down the sidewalk after Chris. I bellowed for him to come back, but on he sprinted. He stopped at the corner to investigate, and mark, the fire hydrant before slipping out of sight. I was following as fast as I could in my slippers and was relieved to find him sitting about half way up the block when I rounded the corner. As soon as I called his name he knew he was in trouble, but I was relieved when he immediately came galloping over to me. My heart was beating like a freight train as I dropped to the sidewalk to hug, scold, yell and pet him.

Roomba

McClane has a new friend! It is a long clip- I won't be offended it you don't watch it all! :)

We got a good deal on a Roomba a couple of weeks ago (http://www.woot.com/) and I tried it out tonight. After he stopped barking at it he watched with a wary eye (from behind me).

A warm spring weekend

Weekends like these make winters bearable. Today it got to 67 degrees! Okay, I know today wasn't part of the weekend, but I took today off of work because it's Chris's spring break week. We basked in the sunshine and took McClane to the dog park yesterday and for a nice long walk today.

It's REI dividend time- one of my favorite times of the year. This year instead of buying clothes, I used mine towards a new backpack for the dog. (He destroyed his petco bag.) He carries his own poo bags, treats and frisbees. (During the summer he carries my snacks and water too!)

McClane gets spiffy

Chris took McClane in to get his nails trimmed today. He also opted for some additional grooming. Apparently, McClane's vocal and physical protests could be heard through out the store! I was greeted by McClane and his "kerchief" after work today:

My life in boxes

Well, I've left my cute little apartment behind for a cute little house in south MPLS. The big move was on Monday and I had lots of help moving furniture. Including Mary and Norah. Norah is pulling screws from her pocket- when Chris took apart my desk Norah helped by holding onto the screws.

Most of my belongings are in the basement- and are slowly being sorted through. So far I've been nesting in the kitchen, computer room and parts of the bathroom/linen closet. I've even laid out a few of my rugs- and McClane has adopted one.
